Day 1

Arrival to Kodaikanal

Morning arrival in Kodaikanal (nearest airport/railway station Madurai or Kodai Road). Check into your resort in Kodaikanal. In the afternoon walk the scenic 1 km paved path of Coakers Walk for stunning valley views and head to the Pine Forest for a peaceful stroll. In the evening rent a pedal boat or rowboat at the star-shaped Kodaikanal Lake and explore the local markets for homemade chocolates and eucalyptus oils. Overnight stay in Kodaikanal.

Day 2

Kodaikanal local sightseeing

Full day exploring Kodaikanal natural attractions. In the morning drive up to Pillar Rocks to view three massive granite boulders and visit the nearby Guna Caves known as Devils Kitchen. In the afternoon explore Bryant Park and take in panoramic vistas from Moir Point. In the evening catch the sunset at Green Valley View formerly Suicide Point and relax at a local cafe. Overnight stay in Kodaikanal.

Day 3

Kodaikanal to Ooty

Early check out from Kodaikanal and a scenic descent and drive towards Ooty, approximately a 7 hour drive covering around 250 km via the plains of Coimbatore and Palani and climbing up the Nilgiri hills. Afternoon stop for lunch in Coimbatore or near the foothills of Mettupalayam before the hill ascent. Evening arrival in Ooty, hotel check in and a relaxing evening enjoying the cool mountain air. Overnight stay in Ooty.

Day 4

Ooty to Coonoor day trip

Take the historic Nilgiri Mountain Railway toy train from Ooty down to Coonoor in the morning, enjoying the slow scenic ride through tunnels and tea estates. In the afternoon visit Sims Park botanical garden and drive up to Dolphins Nose for views of Catherine Falls. In the evening tour a local tea factory to see Nilgiri tea processing, then return and drive back to Ooty. Overnight stay in Ooty.

Day 5

Ooty local sightseeing

Day exploring Ooty peaks and gardens. In the morning drive up to Doddabetta Peak the highest point in South India for panoramic Nilgiri hill views. In the afternoon visit the Ooty Botanical Gardens and the Ooty Rose Garden which houses thousands of rose varieties. In the evening enjoy boating at Ooty Lake or walk around the Charing Cross shopping area. Overnight stay in Ooty.

Day 6

Ooty to Coimbatore (Departure)

Check out from Ooty and head towards Pykara Lake and Waterfalls approximately 20 km from Ooty in the morning with a speedboat ride amid dense shola forests. In the afternoon drive down the 36 hairpin bends towards Coimbatore Airport or Railway Station, around a 3.5 hour drive, for your onward journey and departure.
